Raiders Open Camp!

The Oakland Raiders will hit the practice fields at their Alameda, Calif., facility for a mandatory three-day mini-camp. The first of five practices is set for Friday morning as Head Coach Tom Cable and the coaching staff lead the Silver and Black through their first full team on-field work since the end of the 2008 season.

"It's good to have all the teamates, especially the new guys that we brought in from the Draft, and see the nucleus of the team get together to get us on the right track going into [this] year," Morrison said.

Howard added, "It's going to be good to have everybody back on the team all together. With a few new faces here I want to check them out, from the draft picks and some new free agents too. It is going to be fun to get out there with the fellas and run around and have some good tempo practices and see what is going on."

The Krunch ReportAnd our beloved Oakland Raiders have already handled a majority of their business.

By signing Nnamdi Asomugha to a (then) record contract and making Shane Lechler the league’s highest paid punter, their off-season heavy lifting has already been accomplished.

The fan base and this board being a microcosm of the Raider fan base is almost hopelessly splintered. I thought that I'd do a brief chronology of the last 10 years so that we can look at the blame, credit, and some of the reasons why we are where we are on 11/4/2008. This is my historical fact as I know it, read it, confirmed it....

    All In

Al made a huge move yesterday...

In my opinion, he just went all in with the future of this organization. He made a huge bet and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Cable needs to win at least 7 games for this to work out. A 6-6 record from here out will look OK, but I don't see a lot of season ticket holders re-upping.

The Krunch ReportI must admit, I stood in the ninth row of the opening night malfunction against the Denver Broncos and wondered what I had paid good money to witness. Furthermore, I pondered the possibility that Lane Kiffin and Rob Ryan alike would be unemployed by the end of the month.

The Dark SideUnfortunately, I don't think we have. After Monday nights game I said that I virtually went numb to what was happening on the field. After winning 19 games over five years and watching what little was done in the offseason to try to fix the offensive and defensive lines, I have to admit that I thought it was going to be very difficult for us to win the game, but I had no idea it would be as bad as it was. Then again, I am kind of shocked at myself for not at least having that thought in the back of my mind.
